The Alaskan Way viaduct (SR 99) will permanently close on Friday, January 11, 2019, at 10:00 p.m. Three weeks later the downtown tunnel will open. We expect this to significantly increase drive time to and from the BIIA's Seattle office. Please take this into consideration when you have a live proceeding in Seattle. To accommodate the added delay, you and your clients and witnesses should plan on the extra drive time. Cases should remain as scheduled.
If, even after you have factored in the added time, you find yourself running late in traffic, please notify the Seattle office (205-464-6550) as soon as you safely can. When the new tunnel opens, this will add to travel times as commuters and others adjust to the new traffic configurations.
